This book is TOTALLY inappropriate for ages 4-8. We have open conversations with our kids about good touch vs bad touch, consent, not keeping secrets, etc. We don’t force affection. We call body parts by their appropriate scientific names. So I’m not squeamish about this topic. BUT this book has a fictional story about a girl being molested by her uncle. You can teach body safety and consent without telling terrifying stories of being molested. This creates fear and anxiety without actually improving prevention chances. I can not believe this book was even allowed to be published for this age group.
