NOT AS ADVERTISED
I read the reviews before purchasing these and trusted the description written by the vendor. Unfortunately, these are very inexpensive thinly cut pieces of olefin carpeting with the same backing that comes with olefin. They have not been coated with non-slip backing and have absolutely no latex or anything to help these stay put on my wooden stairs. A good description would be a piece of cardboard with a little carpeting on top and I would consider them to be a safety hazard for humans and animals. When I say they won't stay in place, I mean they are like placing a paper towel on a step and hoping it won't move. There is no way they could be vacuumed without having been taped or nailed in place. In my case, the stairs are very nice and neither tape nor nails are acceptable. I purchased these because they were "skid resistant" but this is not the case. They are going back. To continue, I asked for a return label and Dean Flooring did state I could return these to their company but they would recommend I purchase their tape to keep these in place. That would be another purchase and I have already lost confidence in their portrayal of their products. They also said they have more expensive treads that would not slip. So there you go - the bait and switch. They would not cover the return shipping costs. I filed a claim through Amazon stating these were falsely advertised and Amazon reimbursed 90% of the shipping costs. I have shopped with Amazon for years and highly recommend their professionalism and expertise. I will no longer be purchasing anything from Dean Flooring. I would give them 0 stars if that were possible.
