The item description says "heavyweight" can opener. It is not! And nothing on the box says this - the description is misleading. In fact, it is all plastic except the blade and a few other tiny pieces, and weighs about half of what my old Cuisinart Die Cast can opener did. (Why do companies make an awesome product for a while and then just stop? That old Cuisinart was a workhorse and a thing of beauty that lasted for *many* years - until one of the few plastic parts on it just died.) If you want a heavy can opener, look elsewhere. If you want an appliance that is primarily metal, look elsewhere. I expect this to last about a year if I am lucky, and in the meantime, I'll try to find something better.
