This is not real silk, but polyester. When you burn a thread of real silk, it smells like burning hair and it turns into ash. Silk thread does NOT melt when you hold it up to a lighter, whereas polyester does. The thread test I did (from the fabric itself because it arrived with a snag..) proves this is a fake product. Note the ball of hard, melted plastic at the end. Furthermore, after washing and drying the scarf (tumble dry, no heat) and leaving it in the dryer overnight, this scarf has no wrinkles except for the original folds. See photo. This is typical of polyester, whereas if it were silk, the original folds would be gone and it would be wrinkled after sitting in the dryer.
