★★☆☆☆
I wanted to love it, but can't
I wanted to love this scanner SO much, but it has too many problems to be useful. The biggest problems are: it doesn't go a good job of removing the chromakey "fingertips" that are supposed to be invisible on the page. So instead of fingers, you see blurry spots on the page, which sometimes eat into the text. Even if you're scanning something flat that doesn't require the fingertips, sometimes you just get bad scans, as in the example I've uploaded. Besides the obvious skew, there's a large cloud-shaped spot where the data is missing. I did hundreds of test scans, and this sort of thing is fairly common. You can't trust the scans it makes. Third, it outputs JPG format, and although the (Windows version only) can export to TIFF, it's TIFF from the JPGs, so you still get JPG artifacting, even in the highest quality mode.
