think again about spending the extra cost for a warranty that is useless. Knowing what I know now
Update 12/11/2016 I purchased the pump outlet fitting and a new hose at a cost of $40. This is after three uses ! Keep in mind that the unit is under "warranty". Now I have their Amazon crew telling me to call again to correct this issue. My thinking... I should have spent an extra $50 to get a higher quality pressure washer. And yes, like other users have stated in here, this unit has leaked oil from the very beginning. Original Review: I purchased this unit on March 2016. I decided to buy a Simpson unit thinking that they used higher quality materials and workmanship based on the cost of this particular model. Also, they offer a warranty so I thought that if anything went wrong, it would be covered by the warranty. I am a home owner and have used this unit a couple of times. When I tried to use the pressure washer a couple of days ago, I could not attach the hose to the pressure washer. I discovered that the threads are stripped ! It caught me by surprise because I hardly have used this unit and never had an indication that the threads were beginning to get stripped. This is not the first machine I work with and I am very familiar with mechanical equipment. I called Simpson who directed me to their nearest dealer which is about 60 miles from where I live. I live in Houston. They don't have a lot of dealers and that's the only way that you can get this pressure washer fixed with their so called warranty. I called this dealer who also told me that it would take them 5 weeks to look at the unit no matter what it has. I decided to call Simpson again. This time they said that crossed threads are not covered under warranty. Based on the above, this is a lesson leaned for me that I want to share with other potential buyers of this equipment. If you are buying thinking that it has a 1 year warranty, think again about spending the extra cost for a warranty that is useless. Knowing what I know now, I would not purchase a Simpson again.
