Triple price gouging
I read the reviews, and bit the bullet and bought TurboTax Premiere to handle a rental property. Been using TT (Deluxe) forever, since 1986 when it was MacinTax. Fired up Premiere, and discovered I will have to pay yet *another* $10 for "Home and Office" to handle schedule C.
If Intuit had been honest, they would have raised the price of TT Deluxe, with all its old features, and still called it Deluxe. And then offer stripped-down versions with new names (e.g., "TT Light") at the lower price points. Instead, they have engaged in a bait-and-switch, using the same name (Deluxe) at the old price, and delivering less capability in the product with that name.
I needed to have TT now to do my year-end tax planning; no time to switch to a new program. I hope I have the time later this tax season to convert to something else going forward. In the grand scheme of things, the extra $$ for TT are insignificant, but my loss of trust in Intuit is profound.
