This journal is complete junk... received today and upon opening the shipping box I saw the top half of my journal covered in a white powdery substance. After putting on gloves I open the clear wrapping that held the journal and some of the powder fell off but the leather is stained from whatever it is to the point it looks like the leather has been bleached. I don’t know what it is but it smells terrible. And no not the smell of cured leather, which is also very strong FYI. I’m not even attempting to handle the journal to take a picture but rest assured this product is sweat shop grade. The leather is poor quality and very thin, the threaded bindings on the spine are very loose and several appeared torn to the point the pages are not securely held in place. And the paper itself more closely resembles toilet paper as opposed to even decent quality journal paper. The paper is uneven with little bumps all over it which would make writing with any instrument very difficult. Wet two squares of TP and mash them together and this is the paper you receive. I based my deccision to buy this junk on the many high reviews but the white powder covering my journal aside, I don’t know how rational human could rate this journal anything other than 1 stars (since no stars isn’t an options for some reason). If your looking for a sweat shop grade journal covered in unknown white powder that will fall apart soon after opening, perhaps this is your type of journal. But if you want a good or even decent journal that you can enjoy long after the pages are filled, stay for away. Or better yet just order one from Etsy where you’ll find people who still care about the quality of the product they produce. I do not take writing such a review lightly but this is bar none my worst experience ordering a product off amazon. So much so I’m reported both the product and seller to amazon.
