I do a LOT of sewing so therefore lots of ironing and pressing. My 12 year old granddaughter is starting to get interested in sewing so I gave her my old iron and decided to buy a new one for myself. I researched lots of irons and decided on this one. I didn't want to spend as much as I spent on the one I gave away, and this one had most of the features I was looking for. I'm not out to bash Sunbeam because I know they make good products, but I really think I got a lemon. It definitely does not get as hot as my previous iron on the same setting, and the steam feature is just about worthless. The straw that broke the camel's back happened today when I was trying to fuse some fleece onto tote bags that I am making. It took forever and still didn't do a satisfactory job. I will also be contacting Sunbeam. Don't base buying this iron only on my review. They have obviously sold lots of these irons and I'm sure most work like a jewel. I just happened to get a dud.
