Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I bought this a few months ago because these calipers had such great reviews. I must say I'm a bit mystified by those reviews after having used the one I bought for a while. I'm a professional metalworker and have owned a lot of different brands over the years. These are by far the worst calipers I've ever owned. First they are quite bulky and heavy. I guess as a cheap alternative they have had to use bigger components inside which makes for a larger unit overall. That's not a huge deal, but if you plan on using your calipers every day, it's one strike against them. After using them a couple of months, they slowly started to come apart. A little screw here, a wiper there, until one day they just completely fell apart. Could I figure out how to put them back together? Probably. Is it worth it? Definitely not, because I still end up with a crappy pair of calipers. I suppose if you only planned on using your calipers occasionally and very lightly they might be worth it to you, but if you actually plan on working with them, save your money and a lot of hassle and buy a better set. Very disappointed!
