When I read "damn" for "dam" in the first sentence of chapter 10, I decided to quit. Earlier, I encountered "per say." Along the way, I saw that the author has little understanding of the comma; the first 9 chapters are filled with misused and missing commas. Perhaps her editor is at fault, if she employs one. At any rate, such editorial incompetence is unprofessional and unforgivable. It matters not how good the story may be; if the editing is this poor, the book is not worth my time. I will avoid this author.
