Worked as expected for the first few months. Cooked things evenly and had plenty of size for frozen pizzas and large dishes. Then the toast timer would hang up and stop ticking, cooking anything in the toaster indefinitely unless you realize that you should have heard a ding by now or smelt the smoke from whatever it is you are unintentionally burning. Since then, both the toast and bake timers have started to hang up, and now it is practically unusable unless you plan on standing around watching your food cook. Really surprised that this toaster started malfunctioning after only a few months and lasted less than two years overall. I had always considered black and decker a safe bet for household appliances. I have seen toaster oven timers timers get hung up before and for years now have turned the dial all the way to the max, then back down to the time I need to combat this. This particular toaster, however, would in fact start ticking, then stop in the same place (around 45 seconds remaining?) every time, rather than not start ticking at all. If toasters are your business, and this problem has been well known for years, I just don't understand how this can still be an issue on a timer that should only be cents on the dollar to improve. Of course I am well past the warranty so it is too late for me, but maybe not for you! Go digital timer and avoid this toaster!
