I was quite enjoying the tacky (in the sticky sense) simplicity of my Clingo mount, right up until I returned from a week away on my honeymoon to find that the pad had decomposed in the summer heat. Didn't find this out the easy way, of course. I simply attached my phone, as I had been doing for three weeks or so prior, and later, when I went to remove it, it was stuck so fully to the pad that, upon removal, it took the majority of the top 'skin' of the Clingo surface with it. Took me a few minutes just to scrub the goo off of my iPhone case. Now, in the spots where the skin came off, the Clingo pad leaves a sticky residue on anything placed against it, essentially rendering the mount unusable. I've both called Allsop directly and left a voicemail about the issue and sent an e-mail to their customer support line. After two weeks, neither has given me a response. Pretty unacceptable. I'm very disappointed. Update: Allsop did eventually get back to me and provided two replacement pads free of charge. In order to try and preserve these new pads, I kept them in my glove compartment when not in use, and even re-applied the protective plastic sheet each time to keep detritus from building up on the surface. It worked fine up to a point, but the constant removal and re-installation of the pads on the mount eventually caused the plastic around the ball joint on the mount to break. I'm afraid the product is just not that durable. I appreciate Allsop's willingness to assist me with my issues, but this mount needs a re-design before I can recommend it.
