Unfortunately this product is not airtight or bug safe. I live in the Southeastern US and pantry moths are a constant struggle. They can easy access this container through the hinged lid. Also if you are not very careful, the contents of the container can get under the hinged area on top of the lid and it is very difficult to clean it up without fully removing and cleaning the lid after every use. The other downside is since the access is through the top of the container you cannot stack other things on top of this. I would recommend containers with angled front lids that allow stacking and don't have the hinged area that causes problems.
