I’ve been a fan of Lava lamps since I was knee-high to a cricket. I loved the idea of bright neon blue blobs of lava bubbling around in clear liquid, so that it looked like they were defying gravity. Alas, my lamp looks like proof that EPA guidelines have been rolled back to the days of the original Lava lamps: the water is milky and the lava is a sad, sickly blue. I tried following the guidelines provided regarding cloudy water, with no success. The star-filled LED lamp I also ordered within the past month seems to be doing fine (*knock on wood*) — maybe the original type just aren’t being made to the same standards as they used to... :(
