I so wanted this product to work since the GPS devices are too large. I hoped that even discounting the claimed 300 odd feet that this might work for say a 100 foot range. I tested outdoors with a clear line of site with the device placed on a table and also hanging from a tree. It would "work" when about 3 feet away and also sometimes at say 20 feet. When I walked away from the device, slowly, the indication would indicate that the distance! was decreasing, so could not trust it to help me at least walk in the correct direction. After about an hour of experimentation I came to the conclusion that if it could not find the tracker when in plain sight at distance of between 10 feet and 30 feet there was no way I would trust it to help me in anyway in finding my cat. On a good note, the vendor was good in refunding the money. If a newer model comes out I'd be willing to try again. perhaps there are some trade offs to be made in power to weight ratio for this Bluetooth class of device, ( I'm an engineer).
