After hearing about the issues of quality control with Stanley, I was hesitant to purchase the bottle. But, after losing my Nissan bottle on my last move, I decided to try Stanley, since the price and comments were overwhelmingly positive. After receiving the bottle from Amazon, I hand washed and primed the bottle. Immediately, I noticed the top of the bottle becoming uncomfortably warm. The heat spread throughout the bottle and that's when I realized I received a defective one. I kept the hot water in the bottle for approximately 5 hours, with the stopper fully locked and the cap/cup on, as well. After 6 hours, the water was nowhere near as hot as I expected and by 8 hours, the water was lukewarm. Just be aware this item is not eligible for Amazon return and you'll have to make a claim through Stanley-PMI. I don't know who designed their website, but my browser just shows text and incomplete instructions on how to get the information their customer service requests, before processing your claim.
