I had high hopes for this 12" mattress. It arrived as expected, and I followed the instructions for setting it up. I left it alone for 3 days, waiting for it to totally inflate...but it never did inflate to 12 inches. It inflated to 11 inches on one corner, but the other three corners of the mattress inflated to only 9 and 10 inches. It's also a very hard mattress. It would be unusable if I didn't have a 2" foam topper on it. People had mentioned a slight smell in other reviews. I gave the mattress three weeks to air out and inflate before putting bedding on it. The musty smell that emanates from the mattress did not decrease after three weeks, even after zipping it into a mattress cover. I will not be ordering this Zinus 12" mattress again, as I had previously hoped to do. In fact, I will be getting rid of the mattress as soon as I can replace it, as the smell is permeating the rest of the house. I'm quite puzzled at all the positive reviews. Lesson learned.
