I have a newer digital TV in my bathroom that can not be hook up the cable in my house, so I have relied on a Roku to get movies on Netflix and some sports channels. I use this while I am getting ready in the morning. What I also have hooked up to the TV is a digital converter box and antenna to get local channels. I have not been a big fan of this because it causes me to have the unit plugged into a power strip and then a big square thing that is used as an antenna. I have to move this around to different positions to get certain channels to come in clear. When I found this TV Free-Way device I was really hoping it would work and I could get rid of some of the cords all over the sink area of my bathroom. The TV Free-Way says it does not have to be plugged into a power source. When I got this hooked up to my TV I did a channel scan. The hook up was easy, just connect the TV to this antenna with one cord. The channel scan however produced zero channels. The current setup I have with the digital converter box and square antenna I could get 18 channels. So the way I had it set up clearly did not work. I then connected this antenna to my digital convert box that is plugged into an outlet and replaced this antenna with the big square one. I did another channel scan and ended up with 15 channels. Still not as good as what I was originally using. And it does not solve my need to reduce cords. The only difference is I no longer have the square antenna. I now have the TV Free-Way hooked up and have less channels. Overall, this is not a good solution if you do not have cable hooked up to your TV. And it will only work if you also have a digital converter box. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
