Device worked well for the first year then after light use started to make a very loud noise.. I cleaned it out and made sure nothing was blocking air intake on the device. It started to burn today and the motor went out. I opened it up to inspect its point of decline and found at the very bottom of the backside there is a black sponge-like pad that covers the side intake. It was covered with dust and could not get air. There is no way to get to this without completely deconstructing the vacuum. Also on the lithium battery board I saw scorch marks that were oranged over on the circuit board. Its good I stopped using this device because it could have burned.. It is now in the trash, never will buy a Black and Decker system again. They work so hard on fixing a product that you can't repair, while also building in points of destruction for the device itself. I experienced this with my electric weed eater also. Do not expect more then a year of use, light use of this device. Sadly I had high hopes for it since it worked nicely at first.
