I bought the Lipper Bamboo Coaster set because I love the look of bamboo products. However, I've had these coasters for a few months now and overall I'm not very impressed. At first glance the coasters look really nice, but upon a closer inspection they are indeed roughly made like others have already mentioned. Now if that was the only problem, then I would still like these coasters because it makes them more natural looking. But, after using 3 of the 6 coasters I have noticed large water stains as a result of my glasses sweating. This has made the coasters look horrible. In addition to becoming stained with heavy use, the coasters do not absorb water at all. So if you have glasses that sweat a lot, you are going to end up with a pool of water that can leak off the coasters. Final Note: If you want a coaster that actually absorbs water, then stay away from these bamboo coasters. If you don't want to spend the extra to get the better sandstone ones, then I would recommend you try the AbsorbaStone coaster. AbsorbaStone is equivalently priced to these bamboo coasters, and they are a lot more functional.
