★★☆☆☆
Not as advertised. Bows and slides down wall.
So I bought this knowing it might not work as well as advertised, but hoping the poor reviews were just due to not following directions. Sadly, my hopes were dashed.
The directions are very easy to follow. I was able to put it up myself as there was another curtain rod on one wall that held up one end while I adjusted the other. The tension works sort of. Perhaps if your curtains are VERY lightweight, this rod will work without modification. In my case, I have 4 somewhat heavy curtain panels to cover 108" of space. All together they were too heavy and the pole slowly inches down the wall and bows majorly in the middle.
I have at this point jerry rigged it by screwing in a hook into the ceiling and using some small rope to tie up the center of the pole in the middle. So far, this seems to be working. I have tried to find a black curtain mount, but so far I haven't found a black hook, only full circle ceiling mounts which would require me to take the whole thing apart and then remount it. I will probably just live with my jerry rigging. They could save everybody some time and money if they povided optional ceiling mounts-hooks with this pole. Then anyone who has curtains that are just a bit too heavy, they could add in the mount and not have to return the pole or make due with ugly screws and rope.
I am just giving two start since the Rod is not as advertised and the seller could prevent this issue easily by adding in optional mounts. If the mounts were included, I would give this 5 stars. For false advertising and having to jerry rig it to function I give this product 2 stars.
