What a disappointment when reading this book by Jenny Colgran, an author I have come to enjoy so much -- I've read the two earlier books in this series, as well as one other -- and somewhere in the middle of the dialogue, a character demeans our U.S. President, Donald Trump. Why? It was irrelevant to the story -- which, by the way, occurs on some northern island of Scotland! It seems it was just this author's way of inserting an anti-American administration comment. Oh, and the same character, who while in the middle of suffering, dying of cancer, also had the time to demean Fox News. Regardless of one's political views, these inserts in the book were totally unnecessary, and have had a very negative effect on me. How sad. I found an author I really enjoyed, who creates characters I have enjoyed reading about. As I select future books, I will not buy another by this anti-American author. Regardless of one's political beliefs, I didn't buy this book for politics, but rather for a fictional read -- enough with people inserting their politics into everything.
