Kills the juice
Where did all the reviews critizing the Breville go? The ones that said it worked great for about a year, then started spraying juice out (one gal was juicing beets at the time). Breville is actually touting their super-high RPMs as a good thing - unbelievable. They must be counting on people being uniformed. Let's change that. High RPMs kill the enzymes in the juice - the "goodness" is gone. If you plan to juice for the health benefits and not simple to replace water with something tasty, you'll want a juicer that operates at low RPMs. Several of this have been on the market since the 1990s. While living in the U.S. I had an Omega 8002. The latest model is the 8003 or the snazzier 8005. A very good machine. Gives you "living" juice, since it turns at a slow, cool 80 RPMs. Also offers a high juice yield (seen by the very dry pulp left over after juicing) and low foaming (foam being one sign of oxygenation - dead or dying juice). You might also want to check out the Samson single-auger juicer.
