Believe the other negative reviews. Teflon coating bubbled after the FIRST use!
I went against my own instinct and bought this slow cooker, despite all the negative reviews about the teflon coating bubbling or being very delicate. I can say for certain that the bubbling is indeed a real thing, and it happened on the FIRST meal I prepared in it. It was a pork bone broth that I brought to a boil for 5 minutes, then simmered on low for 24 hours. At no point did I ever use anything other than silicone utensils in there, and only very gently stirred the contents while they simmered every once in a while. I'm trying to explain this in great detail because I read through so many negative reviews before buying this, but figured that the other people who had defects with their slow-cooker may have been more careless or exagerrating how bad this thing is, but believe them, and me. The teflon bubbles for no logical reason. It doesn't matter how careful you are with it.
With that said, there seem to be plenty of people who do like this, and if the teflon worked as it should, this would be a 5 star review. But is it worth the risk to possibly contaminate your food and sacrifice your health cooking in this pot? The worst part is, as another review mentioned, that Cuisinart customer service will ship you a replacement insert for free, but you have to pay to ship the defective insert back to them. How's that for support and standing by their product? So I'm giving it the lowest rating possible because there is definite quality issue/defect after the first use, I have to go through the trouble of returning to amazon, plus Cuisinart clearly doesn't care about their customer very much, or encouraging their customers to maintain brand loyalty to them.
