In the past, I would have given this a 4 or 5 star rating. I had been using it for several years and really liked the thick consistency. The last time I purchased it, the product was thin to the point of being less substantial than a conventional lotion. I emailed Andalou to find out what was going on. I was told that there had been no formula change and the following was given as the explanation for the thin consistency: "As with any natural emulsion, viscosity can vary a bit from batch to batch within a specified range. This can be due to a variable during production like a particular raw material crop variance, or the batch size produced." Subsequent to that response, I found a box from a previous purchase which did not have water listed anywhere as an ingredient. Water is now the 2nd ingredient which clearly explains the thinner consistency, and is a definite formula change. I emailed the company again asking for an explanation and if any of their products were similar to the original ingredients of this one. Up to that point they had been very quick to respond but never responded to this email. This leaves a few possibilities. They were lying about the ingredients on their packaging all along--I doubt this because the consistency did change. They lied in saying the formula had not changed. Comparing the old to new ingredient lists shows a clear difference. I'm very sad that they have weakened the formula. I used to love it, and it was one of the few with very little scent. Because of the lower quality product and the fact that the company has shown itself to be dishonest, I will not be buying any of Andalou's products in the future.
