I chose Firestick over Roku, and then returned the Firestick, and replaced it with Roku. Roku works flawlessly. Firestick kept blaming my router for failing to connect. My chromebook and old bluray player both connected no problem. Further, I bought a Roku stick, and plugged it into the same HDMI cable and power source, replacing exactly the Firestick. Roku works perfectly, where Firestick failed completely. It was all about Wifi connectivity. I purchased a 6 foot HDMI extender, and went through the troubleshooting procedures. The photo shows that my Wifi was kicking arse when the Firestick was choking. Firestick FIRST needs to perform the basic features, THEN add Alexa. I would try a next gen Firestick, a few years from now, once Roku is outdated. One final note - I tried to load the Alexa app on my phone, and could not get it to work. With Roku, it was super easy, and works great. There is no voice command with Roku, but I can enter text from my phone. Roku is a win!
