Please do not move data on to this drive without having it backed up somewhere else. It WILL error and fail. I thought I did enough research on this drive and figured it was an excellent buy. What I should've researched besides the price and quality was the troubleshooting and problems people ran into. Not even 2 weeks from getting this drive, the light started blinking on it and the drive was unreadable. Googling the problem to try to figure it out, I discovered this happens to MANY of Seagates drives that are rendered useless. Warranty states they will replace your drive since it failed but data recovery is not covered and you will end up paying $400-$2000 to recover your drive when you send it in to them. I'm not saying this is their scam but it's incredible how frustrating the company who is supposed to protect people's data is fine with their products failing almost instantly ALL THE TIME. Put your money into a better drive. Trust me, losing years of data and important work documents and paying hundreds of dollars to get it back is NOT worth it.
