I so wanted to like this toaster. Spent lots of time reading reviews, making comparisons, etc., and this one kept surfacing as decent. So I bought this Hamilton Beach 22811 toaster and the first time I used it, one side of one piece of bread did not toast whatsoever. Tried it several more times with the same result. I returned it. Still thinking maybe I was just the result of a toaster assembler on their off day, I ventured to buy the same toaster again, thinking there was no way I'd have the same problem twice. The picture I am posting here is the result of the exact same brand, different toaster, both pieces from the same trip down the hatch. It was even worse than the first one I purchased. 4 sides of bread, all toasted at different levels, one side of one piece only toasting the bottom half. How whacked out is that? Another piece completely black. I'm not a toast snob, but c'mon people. If they could even get halfway in the same ballpark with levels, I'd be a happy camper. But not so today.
