The picture shows this toaster holding four slices of bread. The reality is that, unless you’re a tiny baby who eats tiny baby bread, it only holds one and a half slices per slot. You can turn the slices on their side to fit four, but that will leave the tops sticking out, where the bread won’t toast at all. This is really a two slice, long slot toaster. It can do two, extra long, round load style slices, but not four sandwich loaf slices. Unrelated, but an additional reason I returned: it has a horrible plastic smell when it heats up that fills the whole room.
