don't waste your money
After owning 2 iRobot Roombas for several years and needing to replace one, we thought we'd try a different brand (and I'm a sucker for a 1/2 off black Friday deal), so we purchased this piece of junk. The one good thing about it: it does pick up a lot of pet hair and dust if/when it runs. The bad: it NEVER makes it back to the dock, it experiences multiple (like 10) errors within the first hour of cleaning (sensors need cleaning, bumper is stuck, it is on an uneven surface...like a tile or a rug..., wheel is stuck, AND you get to play "find the robot vacuum" every day. It's very lightweight, much lighter than a Roomba, which is probably why it doesn't work very well. It has no handle for picking up, which you will have to do A LOT of when you play hide and seek and eventually find it each day. It's extremely noisy as well. There is an app for your phone, but mine loses connection and signs me out every day. The bonus to the app is you can use the "find" feature to make the robot beep, and you're definitely going to need this function when playing hide and seek each day. The only way I'd recommend this thing is if you have a very small apartment with sparse furnishings and if you can purchase this for next-to-nothing. Otherwise, save your money and buy a better quality robotic vacuum. *Edit* After one month of use and dealing with the quirks of this in an attempt to live with it, the robot finally gave out. One of the wheels completely stopped turning. There was nothing visible stuck in an axle that would have caused it. It just wouldn't turn. Amazon has been fantastic to work with. Because we've had problems since day one, they are issuing a refund and I am returning the unit. I am going to purchase another Roomba. Other issues we noticed during our month of attempting to get it to work: somedays it runs for an hour, but on average it only runs for 5-15 minutes per day in a 3000 sq foot house. It would have about 5-10 errors each day, meaning that you continually have to babysit it, wipe sensors, move it, restart it. It frequently loses it's wifi connection and needs to be reconnected.
