I used these as a replacement for the accordion side extended panels of my A/C and found that this doesn't hold up to rain very well. It's more of a foam insulation. I instead bought a large piece of Owens Corning pink hard foam board and cut out the pieces I needed with a utility knife and I painted it, this works much better in the rain and provides great insulation. You can buy this at HD or Lowes where the insulation is. Costs about $5.00
