I am conflicted in giving this product 2 stars, but I hope that it will draw attention to those puzzling over the size of this leotard. The leotard itself appears to be fine, but the arbitrary sizing on the listing makes it difficult to correctly identify which size to order. I spent time before ordering reading reviews that said this leotard fit "on the small side." Some said their 3 year-olds were wearing size small. One reviewer stated that their now 9 year-old wears a size large. I was buying for my daughter who is 8 years-old and is above average in height. I decided to get the large, but it was way too big. When I looked at the tag of the product it said the large leotard was a 12-14! No wonder it didn't fit. What I don't understand is why the sizing is listed with the arbitrary "small, medium, and large" labels when the tags on the product clearly state numerical sizes. So if a large is a 12-14, then I would suppose a medium is a 8-10, and a small is a 4-6. If this is true, then I would say that these leotards are true to size. To Amazon: It is incredibly unhelpful when the linked sizing chart has no relation to the product I'm purchasing. Each brand seems to have their own sizing, so posting a general sizing chart is not helpful. As a note to the seller (if they even read these reviews), if the tag states numerical sizes, please list the numerical sizes in the product listing.
