Batch received in May is DIFFERENT!! FAR INFERIOR to Original batch from January :(
**UPDATE from Original Review - down to 2 stars from 5 stars*** So originally, I loved this chocolate so much, I raved about it, and over the last few months tried not to eat it all at once. It truly tasted like fine chocolate. That was Jan 2017 and my 6-pack lasted through April. Then I reordered (received in May 2017) and excitedly opened the bag today. I noticed the individual wrappers were downgraded to a cheap white plastic, rather than the more elegant dark paper/foil. Oh well, I'm not eating the wrappers, I thought. But then I opened it and it looked different somehow - lighter perhaps (and no, I am not mistakenly comparing dark chocolate to milk - I ordered Milk both times). As soon as it touched my tongue - blech!! Disappointment!! It was more waxy, and tastes just like those cheap-o generic chocolate easter bunnies (not even the respectable Dove or Hersheys kinds). I still had a few squares of the original, and opened one to compare. Yep, the original dark-wrapper one is delectable. The new white-wrapper ones are cheap-easter-bunny quality. My heart is broken. I thought I found my Keto-friendly chocolate. But they changed the forumla and it is not nearly as good. It might still pass for "crappy" sugary chocolate, but it is no longer impressively tasty. I will not purchase again. Sigh. Bring back the previous formula, please! ---Original review of 1st order--- Seriously, if I didn't see the nutrition label, I would 100% think that this is fine quality 'regular' chocolate with plenty of deliciously authentic sugar. No joke. I am starting up Keto again, and have gotten used to the 'meh' taste of all the artificial sweeteners out there that still don't really make food taste the wonderful way that real sugar does, but help me through the sweet cravings (yes I know real foods with no sweeteners is best, but they help me not go crazy and carb-binge into another 15 pounds). Quest and other sugar-alcohol bars (sigh, not great), Stevia in my coffee, sucralose in diet soda... granulated, liquid, I've tried them all. There is always the funny taste or aftertaste that is a dead giveaway that it's "artificial". BUT NOT THIS CHOCOLATE! OMG THIS TASTES AMAZING. Can this be for real? Someone better look into label or manufacturing fraud because these really taste too good to be true. They are better than Chocoperfection bars in terms of that sweet, natural sugar taste, which were the best I could find until these. Are we sure these are for real? 1 carb per heavenly little square. Please let it be true!
