★★☆☆☆
Higher, but still not high enough
I have a 13 pound adult female cat who stands in the litter box to do her "business", but she sprays over the edge and out onto the floor. When her urine stream first begins, it begins inside the box and into the litter. For whatever reason, the longer she "goes", as she "goes", her rump starts to elevate and the stream is propelled ever higher until eventually it escapes the box.
I got this box hoping the higher sides would contain her urine, but two days later and twice my cat has already sprayed outside of this box.
Once she stood rump to the back (like she was supposed to) and still she sprayed over the high back wall. The second time she walked in but remained facing the back of the box, and she sprayed easily out the low opening in the front. The second time was a disaster because almost all of her urine ended up on the floor and ended up very far from the box. The first time, not so bad....but still.
The walls of the box are higher than most, but at the same time the box is not very wide or deep so wherever my cat stands her rump is still very close to the edges.
If the box was wider and deeper and she had more room in the center to stand, it might leave more room for error. At the same time, if the box were too wide and deep it would take up a lot of room. Perhaps too much, in the minds of some.
I gave this product a low rating because it did not solve my problem (urine escaping the box) and if that is the reason you were attracted to this product (the high walls to contain urine) then you might end up dissatisfied like me.
Back to the drawing board. Anyone with the same problem who's managed to solve it....your suggestions would be welcomed.
