The description of the book could have been more forthcoming with regard to the scope of content. While it is a different point of view as house / home the description should have indicated that the definition of family was not traditional and not the type of thing that I would read to my grandchildren. A male-male family is not something that a three year old needs to comprehend if they are not in that situation. Be up front with the content description.
