This is a poorly designed product and has many flaws. I bought this water kettle as it is stainless steel and thought it would be healthier option. However the product has many flaws - 1) The body of the kettle gets very hot. There is no insulation for the body of the kettle. So if you don't hold it by its handle correctly, chances are you will burn your hand more often than not. 2) The heated water started developing metallic after taste after few uses. 3) The auto shut off kicks in sometimes even though the water is not fully heated. Sometimes when it is only lukewarm, the auto shut off would turn off the heating. You have to turn on the heating again to heat water even more. 4) The base is made of cheap plastic and feels it will break apart easily. The only thing is liked about the kettle is the lid. It has a nice stable flip lid to avoid water from pouring out of the top.
