★★☆☆☆
Amount Standardized for 95% Curcuminoids is unclear.
I have been taking another Turmeric product for a few years but wanted to try a different brand at a lower price. I feel the old adage is true, if it seems to good to be true, it probably is. At first glance I noticed the color seemed darker, (I have included a comparison photo with my old product on the left) After a closer examination, I noticed what appears to be specks of lighter colored product and a slightly more coarse grind. I'm a little skeptical about taking something that seems like it could be contaminated, if the label is correct it's organic turmeric root extract, but when I think extract I think pure, not what I see here. Also this stores discription reads: Organic Turmeric Curcumin Extract, 1000mg Pure Organic Turmeric (Curcuma Longa Root) AND 95% Curcuminoids but the label reads: Organic Turmeric Root Extract (STD. to 95% Curcuminoids) 1200 mg Both are misleading at best, the industry standard that im used to seeing is this: (from my old product) (Curcuma longa) (rhizome) [Standardized for 95% Curcuminoids (712.5mg)] 750 mg * its important to note this part of label. (712.5mg)] Thats the number manufacturers want to scream from the rooftops because thats your true number for curcumin mg. You have to wonder why they don't list the number of standardized mg of curcumin when it is such a statement from the manufacturer about what's really in their product. the label should read this way for one capsule: Organic Turmeric Root Extract [Standardized for 95% Curcuminoids (570 mg)] 600 mg * The only thing the label on the bottle tells us is that there's 1200 mg of organic turmeric root extract not the actual amount that has been standardized, if any.
