The title refers to the purchase of several different types and brands of plug-in wifi boosters over the years with various home wifi installs. They never deliver on the wonderful promises of extended wifi range for me. This particular one installed easily using the phone app and all the proper lights lit up solid just like the instructions said. No difference in wifi range, however. I only needed my wifi (2.4Ghz AC) to extend a little beyond the 35' where it was getting weak. I tried this extender at several different distances from my router, and no better results. I wasn't about to waste time with troubleshooting for a long time as I didn't want to run out of the return window. Returned. Next try will be with a professional, more expensive setup. EDIT: My next attempt (successful) was to get a Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-PRO standalone access point system. That did the trick with flying colors. Spent $137, but worth it.
