I got this fryer as a Christmas present for my grandmother, and the first two times we used it, everything was swell. We used it to make churros and then to make fried plantains. A few days later, my grandmother pulls it out to make plantains again, and she realizes that the oil is turning black. When she starts fishing out with inside, it's the plastic from the scooper and from the teflon on the side of the machine! I ordered this fryer because it was small and the oil could be reused, but not is the entire machine is going to be contaminating our food with plastic!!
