2 Months, Bridge Snapped
Bundle looked like a great value, reviews appeared solid. But unfortunately, you get what you pay for.
I purchased this guitar for myself. Took immaculate care of it, kept it away from humid and hot weather, handled it gently, played it a few hours a week.
After two months, the bridge snapped into two pieces. This was the result of poor construction.
My only recourse is to take the guitar to a shop 50 minutes away from me, where they will judge whether or not this is a valid warranty claim. Of course, after they hopefully approve the claim, I'll have to wait for the new part to come in. Who knows how long that will take - maybe a week+?
I'm debating whether it is worth $30 gas, 4+ hours of my time, and potentially weeks of my patience to resolve this issue.
I'm disappointed that a refund or replacement couldn't simply be issued. I wasn't even given the opportunity to mail the guitar back.
I handled the issue appropriately, messaging Amazon first about the problem and then proceeding to get in touch with Fender over the phone.
The customer support specialist at Fender was obviously not pleased that I had reached out to them over the phone. He did lighten up a bit when I expressed that I may be willing to waste my gas, time and patience to POTENTIALLY get this issue resolved.
Overall, this is ridiculous and extremely disappointing. Don't offer a $150 guitar bundle if you can't stand by the integrity of the product. I'm sure many people buy this, use it once, and give up once they realize how challenging learning the guitar can be. So many of these $150 guitars never get played with much frequency, and therefore never break down. Clearly, with regular use and great care, this product can still break down quickly.
