Can and will cause a fire. I hadnt even noticed but the wires heat up, the plug for the extension cord got heated to the point where one of the entry points melted. It wasnt until I had come back from my 3rd shift (thank god i unplug wires before leaving) that I noticed i could no longer use the extension cord due to a melted entry point. Had the cord for less than a few months. Not worth it. If I spend $20 on something i would like to use it for a long time. Cheaply made.
