This item fried the logic board on my brand new i7 16gb macbook. The pass through power feature had some small amount of ungrounded feedback or something. After I used it to do a time machine backup from an external hard drive computer started acting funny. Would not take charging cable sometimes. I used it again for video project from external hard drive and after that computer stopped taking charge all together. Apple did repair and said everything inside needed to be replaced except the battery. I looked at battery cycles after getting it back. 9 battery cycles. Computer was near new. What a shame. Don't buy this product unless you want to destroy your computer.
