Just get to the point already
I'm going to start off by saying that I always read the one and two star reviews before I purchase a book. If the things the reviewer complains about are minor or something I can handle, I still purchase the book. In this case, there were no one or two star reviews. So I stupidly purchased the book. Don't get me wrong, if I would have stuck through to the ending, I may have rated it better, endings always make the book worth it. In this case, I just couldn't. The first half of the book was decent. There was enough mystery and build up surrounding Syd and Drew that it kept me engaged, I couldn't put it down. Then it started to get obnoxious. There were far too many descriptions of scenes that didn't matter. I understand that the writer had to build the scene, but to me it was excessive. Just get to the point already. Not to mention for a while there I kind of wanted to tell Syd she was an idiot. Your boyfriend is FILTHY RICH and you keep saying that. Most rich people...well at least THAT rich are in the spotlight, the place you don't want to be! The steamy scenes didn't get my heart racing, and part of this is because I have become a snob regarding steamy romance novels. I hate to admit it, but I have read one too many, and this was at the lower end of the spectrum for me. At the end of the day I threw my Kindle on the couch and marked this book as another loss. Some might find it entertaining, but I did not.
