Did not hold my interest
I must be one of the only people to not like this book. There are tons of 5 star reviews, but I honestly can't see why. I slogged through this book and almost gave up on it completely about halfway through. It is a very interesting premise, but I really didn't like the characters very much. The dialogue seemed forced in many places, and I didn't buy the romance. Maybe all of these things are better developed later in the series, but I struggled to make it through, only doing so to see what the twist ending was. I skimmed the last quarter of the story, and only the twist was interesting, though not enough for me to read the next book. This world wasn't as appealing as Panem or the Chicago of Divergent, and the characters were much less so.
