I purchased this book after reading the sample which appeared intriguing. Beyond those initial sample pages the story wallows in depravity and reading it was tedious and increasingly distasteful. Between serial murders that were memorable only for the gore, the book yo-yos from unimaginative detective work to juvenile sex talk followed by violent or selfish sex acts performed every which way possible. I wasn't able to identify with or come to care about any character in the book. Both men and women were equally degraded throughout.
