4/22/16 update - I saw the manufacturer comment and I plan to call them this coming week. I had to give my cat some meds for traveling in a car and the vet gave me the Greenie "Pill Pockets" to hide the meds. I was reticent to give them to my cat after the puking rally after each "SmartBite Hairball control" treat. I've been giving my cat the Greenies Pill Pockets for nearly 3 weeks now 2-3 times a day just as a treat with no side effects or vomiting. I suspect whatever the "hairball control" chemical or additive is in the SmartBites simply does not agree with my cat. If you've had problems with the Smart Bites causing vomiting in your cat, try the Greenies Pill Pockets. More to come after I call the manufacturer this week. Cheers! Original review - I bought Greenies Smartbites on Amazon and when they arrived, my 7 month cat really liked them. Taste and flavor was not a problem - she inhaled them as soon as I put them down. One problem - they made her puke about 12 hours later like clockwork. It was like setting the fuse on a 12 hour puking time bomb. After seeing her puke 12 hours later every day I gave them to her for 3 days in a row, I experimented to be sure it really was the Greenies treats. I went for 3 days and didn't give her any of them and she was fine - not one yak. On the 4th day, I gave her two Greenies with some water and that night, she puked in the bed between me and my wife at 3AM. That was a special moment and anyone with a cat knows that "special sound" a cat makes 5 seconds before delivering the payload. I waited three more days and she was puke free with her Purina One cat food, some small pieces of roast chicken from time to time and small pieces of ham. On day 4, I gave her two more Greenies and 12 hours later that day, she yakked again. Case closed - if I want my cat to puke, I have two sure fire methods - any car ride longer than 35 minutes even with meclizine OR two Greenies Smart Bites. I doubt it's a problem in all cats but if I want to turn my cat into a time delayed vomiting machine, I know what to feed her.
