I purchased this because I have mostly wood floors throughout the house with various rugs and mats. I also have three indoor cats and their fur is a daily battle. I wanted something quick and easy to get up the cat hair on some of the low pile mats and carpets in between regular vacuuming. Something i could grab and do a quick once over with when time doesn’t allow for a thorough vacuuming. After reading all the reviews I went with this pricier carpet sweeper. First thing I realized when it arrived is how incredibly small it is. It is really small, like toy small, however that is not a deal breaker for me, in fact it makes it that much easier to store away. Nice heavy unit, doesn’t feel cheap at all. Sadly, the sweeper did not pick up any of the pet hair on any of carpets. I used it on both standard pile carpet, and I used it on some of the low pile mats. The results were the same for all the carpets. It pushed the pet hair around, streaking it over the carpet, leaving hair spread out and balls of fur on the carpet. Pushing harder did not change anything, and really, it shouldn’t be that difficult. I have attached a photo of our inside door mat after using the carpet sweeper on it. You can see the pet hair pulled over the surface of the carpet and the balls of hair that formed but were not swept up. I was very disappointed with how the unit performed. I am returning it. For the money, I sincerely expected better.
