I was completely captivated by the whole levitation thing and knew it would be a perfect gift for my 17 year old son. Unfortunately that didn't turn out to be the case and I ended up returning this item. The speaker globe floats over the base through the force of opposing magnets. After 45 minutes of multiple attempts, I was finally able to get it to line up perfectly so it would float. When I tried to move the piece to my son's room to surprise him --thinking I must have finally gotten the Hang of it-- I was wrong and could not get the thing to float again despite performing the exact procedure recommended by the seller. Realizing my son wouldn't have the patience to get this thing to float, I knew it would be a lost cause and sadly retuned it. The sound was ok, but I didn't spend too much time evaluating that aspect since I couldn't get past step 1. . PROS: Very cool concept. CONS: Too difficult to get said concept to work. WOULD I BUY AGAIN? I'd like to believe maybe I got a "dud", but for the price I paid, I wasn't willing to gamble again and returned it to Amazon. I would not purchase again until I was certain that my initial purchase was a fluke.
