Serious fire hazard! Worked fine for 5 months, then out of the blue, one morning I heard a "popping sound" and saw the female end of this cord emitting sparks and flames. Fortunately I was right there and stomped out the sparks, pulled on it and the head came right off. The floor is scorched where this occurred. When it happened there was only one item plugged into the extension cord, but it was NOT TURNED ON, nor was it drawing ghost power. It had not been turned on for at least 12 hours. If this had happened during the night or while I was away, the house likely would have caught fire. I wrote to the manufacturer about this serious concern and heard......NOTHING back. Caveat Emptor.
